“The Grocery Store”

A robbery gone bad culminating at a local Grocery Store creates unexpected complications for the store’s manager, her husband, and her employees, as everyone prepares for the imminent wedding of their best friend's daughter to their son. 

A jewelry heist gone bad, and a bag of stolen diamonds hidden in the produce section of the local grocery store are the catalysts for our story. It revolves around the store manager, Michelle, and her husband George, the town sheriff. She scrambles to keep the store open, preparing for her son’s wedding, and dealing with her husband’s demons, all threatening to destroy her marriage. George is struggling as well, trying to provide for his family, do his job, and confront the financial stress caused by his crippling gambling addiction. Interwoven within this framework, we meet an assortment of odd characters: employees, shoppers, criminals, and police, each providing just a bit of their own mischief. As the story progresses, the pressures brought upon both Michelle and George become more dramatic and demanding, even dangerous, especially as George desperately explores resolving them by reviving past criminal associations, which, unfortunately, produces even more severe complications. As events unfold, Michelle receives a sizeable monetary reward for her help in retrieving the stolen diamonds, enough to pay off her husband’s gambling debt as well as her son’s wedding.
