"The Glow"

 With nothing to lose and desperate to live as a human, an innocent young woman and an unattached, unemployed construction worker form an inconceivable alliance and together they must face Arthur, her jilted vampire husband-to-be, his evil coven, an unfriendly ocean, and its elements, and the Glow that signals hell is on its way.

Mixed marriages can be impossible, especially when the husband is human, and the wife is a diehard vampire. It is even harder for their offspring, in this case June, a young woman desperate to escape from her upcoming pre-arranged marriage. Her ambitious mother has betrothed her to Arthur, an extremely powerful and dominant vampire. Fleeing early in the story, she seeks to abandon her dark vampire side in search of simple humanity, a once-in-a-lifetime choice permitted to second-generation children of such marriages. She soon encounters Riley, an unattached, unemployed construction worker who is hitching a ride on his friend’s eighty-foot motor sailor, determined to make a fresh start on an island in the Caribbean. June tags along on the innocent trip, aiming to put more distance between herself and the life she left behind, unaware that her vampire husband-to-be has other plans. He is willing to use all his evil powers, the Glow, and more to capture his bride. June’s new friends, using all their human resources, challenge their wits, testing their endurance and spirit against overwhelming odds, baffling not only Arthur, the Glow, and his loyal coven of followers, but also an unfriendly ocean and its elements. Throughout all this, June, and Riley, constantly at odds with each other, somehow find the time to fall in love.
